Jill and Vinny's Volleyball Game

Vincent Verdi. Junior, History Major.

Originally, there was supposed to be a Founders Week Softball Game, where the students played the faculty. Unfortunately, the game got cancelled due to a storm coming through the area, but that didn’t stop the students and faculty playing each other in some sort of competition. Instead, they moved indoors and played volleyball. I wanted to play, but unfortunately, people who play volleyball at Rosemont College aren’t allowed to play. That didn’t stop me from participating though, as instead of playing, they wanted me to coach. I didn’t really do much as coach except celebrate when our team scored, but overall, it was an enjoyable time for me. I think that goes the same for the students and staff too, as they played for almost two hours. As each set went by, it was my job to organize the students and put in subs after each one. In total, there was about 15 faculty, and originally 18 students at first, but this number grew to about 24 after the second set as six girls from the softball team wanted to hop in. As for the faculty, they subbed after every serve, and they kept things moving. In a total of four sets, the students won the first three, the crowd was loud, and the people playing were loving it. The fourth set was different though, as the faculty ran away with it. I can’t remember names as I’m not great with them, but the photos that I took were during the third set, and you can see the atmosphere in the community room, and in a video that I took you can hear how loud it was.
