Award Lunch
On April 7th, 2022, Rosemont College held their annual Founders Day Awards and luncheon in the Cafeteria in the Community Center. This was also the first in-person gathering since 2019. In total, there were 15 different awards to be given out, and my job was to document two of them, the Outstanding Service Award, and the Patti K. McClatchy Award. To start these awards, Rosemont College President, Jason Boyers, started out the ceremony by stating the importance of these awards, and why Founders Week is important to Rosemont College and its community. Following his opening speech, he passed the mic off to another member of faculty, then the awards started to be handed out. Half-way through the award ceremony, the first award that I was focusing on, the Outstanding Service Award, was finally announced. The award was given to a member of faculty that went “above and beyond” when it came to their work. They earned the award for exactly why the award is named what it is, their outstanding service. The winner of this award was Lauren Platt, who is a career counselor here at Rosemont College. A few awards after that one was the Patti K. McClatchy Award. This award was given to either a junior or senior, and this student displayed outstanding contributions to classmates and symbolize courage and generosity. The winner of this award was Marissa Rosario. Overall, the Founders Day event was great, and I think students, faculty and staff all enjoyed it.
